Project Albi M.H

Challenge

The client requested a sophisticated integration of a Fronius photovoltaic system into the building automation platform.
The objective was not only to monitor energy production, but to actively manage and optimize energy consumption based on real-time solar generation, grid interaction, and household demand.
A key challenge was ensuring dynamic load distribution across multiple consumers (e.g. HVAC, domestic hot water, EV charging), while maximizing self-consumption and minimizing grid dependency.

Solution

The system was implemented using the LOXONE Miniserver as the central energy management unit.
The Fronius inverter was integrated via Modbus TCP, enabling real-time acquisition of production data, consumption values, and grid flow.

Based on this data, intelligent energy logic was developed to:

- Prioritize self-consumption by dynamically activating loads when surplus energy is available
- Control high-consumption devices such as heating systems, boilers, and EV charging stations
- Automatically reduce or defer loads during low production periods
- Provide transparent visualization of energy flows within the LOXONE App

This resulted in a fully automated energy management system that maximizes efficiency, reduces operational costs, and ensures optimal utilization of renewable energy.
