Challenge
Growing up in the crafting business, Simon Schwab learned to appreciate the mastery of local craftsmanship at an early age. This is probably why the work of local manufacturers is very present in his penthouse in Koblach. The residential complex on the edge of the Castle Forest was built by Wilhelm & Mayer, finalised at the end of 2018. Simon Schwab lives in the southern penthouse, enjoying a wonderful view of the Vorarlberg mountains.
Solution
Craftwork from Vorarlberg
The kitchen, the doors and a lot of the furniture come from the family business – the Schwab joinery – in Götzis. The village’s electrician helped plan the smart apartment according to Simon Schwab's wishes. The lighting was planned and realised in collaboration with the lighting studio Conceptlicht. In addition to the special feature of the RGBW Spots from Loxone, lights from BEN - manufactured in the Bregenzerwald - were also used.
Smart home with Loxone
The entire penthouse was implemented as a smart home with Loxone. The already mentioned RGBW Spots are used for generic lighting. With these, lighting moods for the entire penthouse can be implemented in all colours, if desired dimmed to the appropriate light intensity.
Control with Weather Station
The entire shading system as well as the awnings on the terrace are fed information from the Weather Station and react autonomously to changes between sun, rain and wind. Of course, Simon Schwab can control the shading himself at any time if he doesn't agree with the instructions from the Weather Station. This is made very easy by the Loxone app on a smartphone or tablet.
