Challenge
The focus in the construction of this beautiful single-family home in Girona, Spain, was on high energy efficiency from the very beginning. The certification as a "Passive House Classic" proves that this goal was achieved to a particularly high degree. The climatic conditions of the location were also taken into account during planning and realization. In addition, the building was to be constructed mainly from domestic resources.
Solution
In addition to the Zehnder ventilation system, the Loxone Miniserver also controls the air conditioning, heating, photovoltaic system and blinds. It ensures that all the cogs mesh perfectly to achieve the goal of "maximum energy efficiency" - without having to sacrifice comfort. In the Passive House Girona, a large part of the energy for hot water production is generated by the PV system. If this produces more electricity than is currently needed, the surplus is used to heat water.
The combination of smart Loxone technology, the passive house standards and the fully integrated PV system means that the house almost no longer needs to draw electricity. Through the intelligent control of the PV system, it is even possible - at least in the summer months - to produce the energy for the actual main consumer, the hot water preparation, completely energy self-sufficient.
