Smart Rural Estate with Remo

The project involved automating a newly constructed home with multiple structures, including a distant horse barn located approximately 150 yards from the main residence. The specific challenges included:



Seamless Control Across Distance: Extending automation capabilities from the main house to outbuildings 150 yards away without compromising reliability.



Multi-Zone Climate Control: Creating comfortable, individualized temperature zones throughout the property's various spaces.



Comprehensive Integration: Unifying lighting, audio, and HVAC systems into a single, intuitive platform that works across all buildings.



Design Integration: Implementing sophisticated automation while maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the new construction.



Future-Proofing: Ensuring the system could accommodate expansions or upgrades as the property and technology evolved.

We designed and implemented a complete Loxone automation solution that seamlessly extended throughout the property, connecting the main residence with remote structures:



1. Central Control Hub

Installed a Loxone Miniserver as the central brain of the system, managing all connected devices and automation sequences.



Added Relay Extensions and Dimmer 120V modules to control both standard and dimmable lighting throughout the property. Integrated the Audioserver for multi-room audio distribution, creating synchronized or individualized audio zones.



2. Extended Range Solution

Utilized Loxone Nano Air technology to bridge the 150-yard gap between the main house and the horse house, providing reliable wireless control of the remote lighting systems.



This wireless solution eliminated the need for expensive trenching and running cables across the property, while maintaining responsive, reliable performance.



3. Climate Comfort System

Implemented the Damper Tree system to create precisely controlled temperature zones throughout the home.



Connected the HVAC system to the Miniserver for intelligent climate management that optimizes both comfort and energy efficiency.



4. User Interface

Installed Touch Pure Tree panels at strategic locations throughout the home, providing intuitive control of all connected systems.



Integrated the Loxone Intercom system for communication between different areas of the property and visitor management at entry points.



5. Intelligent Automation

Programmed scenarios for different times of day and activities, automating lighting, climate, and audio based on occupancy and preferences.



Created custom "away" and "vacation" modes for energy efficiency and security when the property is unoccupied.



Set up remote access capabilities so the owners could monitor and control all systems from anywhere in the world.
