Modern farmstead

A new farm is being built for a fruit-growing business in the South Tyrolean Adige Valley. In addition to areas for storage and agricultural vehicles and equipment, the building includes three apartments, only one of which is permanently occupied by the owner family. Intelligent shading is required for the many glass surfaces in order to avoid overheating in summer and to use the warming sunlight in winter to heat up the living spaces. The automatic control of lighting, shading, irrigation, heating and ventilation, access and the alarm system is also desired. Diesel and water tanks are designed for the agricultural machines, for which the fill level is to be monitored and the owner is to be alarmed if the level falls below a set level.

Due to the size of the building, automation was unavoidable in order to keep the workload as low as possible. The essential elements of a smart home were used: lighting, shading, irrigation, heating, ventilation, access and alarm systems are now intelligently controlled.

The two apartments, which are not constantly occupied, are switched to energy-saving mode when they are absent. The filling levels of the water tank and the diesel tank are now checked and the owner is informed if they fall below a certain level.
