Challenge
Hotel Siesta is 4-star hotel with 18 rooms, a restaurant and a banquet hall; altogether about 3000 sqm. We were contracted to carry out automation and control of lighting and HVAC systems, as well as central graphic user interface and visualization.
Solution
The hotel is functionally divided in two parts: rooms with a restaurant and a reception hall, first one and banquet hall, second one. So, those two parts were treated and controlled separately.
Light control in the restaurant, reception hall, hotel’s facades and the courtyard is done with 44 on/off circuits.
Lighting system in the banquet hall consists of 38 on/off circuits and 16 RGBW LED stripes circuits. RGBW LED stripes are controlled by DMX extension.
Lighting is organized in various scenes to achieve all lighting environments, dimmable, with pleasant tones.
Room automation is not done by Loxone, but a system of emergency SOS calls is.
There are various PIR sensors in the object, mainly needed for light. Those sensors are connected to Loxone with digital inputs and are also used for anti burglar alarm system in different zones.
Cooling is realized with Mitsubishi VRF outdoor and indoor units. Communication with Loxone is done through Modbus communication protocol.
Heating and ventilation of the restaurant and banquet hall are done with two air conditioning chambers with recuperation units and water preheatera. 3-way valves and dumpers for air mixing are controlled with 0-10V signals provided by Loxone AO outputs.
Loxone manages the entire heating station and boiler room of the hotel, too. One dedicated Loxone Miniserver with needed extensions balances the usage of energy sources (heat pump, solar, electric heaters) to deliver the best efficiency and lowest cost. It also takes care of temperature control in the water buffer tank and central water heater, circulation pumps and 2-way and 3-way regulation valves. Temperatures are measured by 1-wire sensors.
So, the entire hotel relies its functionality on 3 Loxone Miniservers with plenty of various extensions interconnected in the network.
Central User Interface is realized through the Loxone application installed on two PC workstations located at the hotel reception. Besides the described systems managed directly by Loxone, signals from other subsystems like fire detection and access control are wired to Loxone, too. So, an employee on the reception can supervize and control the entire hotel easily and comfortably, from his chair.

The Hotel is not big one, but we have integrated almost all in it: various systems (light, HVAC, energy...), communications (Modbus, DMX), temperature regulations, energy management.
