Challenge
Simone and Lucia (better known as the STEPSOVERS) are a couple who have been traveling full time since April 2017, aboard their home automation truck named Valentino. They wanted to integrate a lot of automation into their home on wheels, to make their life easier by allowing them to control a lot of electronics with a simple tap of a button or through their phone, and Loxone made this possible for them.
Solution
Just as Simone and Lucia had wanted, Loxone has allowed for the integration of many automated functions into their truck. These automated functions include a zoned heating system, energy saving through compressor refrigerator control, lighting and much more. With all these functions being easily controllable and monitorable through the app, which is key and of particular importance when it comes to maintenance as their home is on wheels.
There are many different systems on the market, but I decided to use Loxone's home automation, because it really offered me the possibility to do what I wanted in a very free open way, since the software has an open interface also towards the open source world. It also makes life on board my Valentino motorhome safer and more comfortable.
