Challenge

Back in 2018, our customer came to us with the desire for a smart home for more comfort, security and, of course, energy efficiency. It was important that the system should remain future-proof and expandable later, which would prove to be a major advantage. New products and software functions led to some adjustments and additions during the project phase and continuously beyond.

In our smart home model house in Hersbruck, our customer was able to look at the Loxone system in detail and try it out for himself and the decision was made quickly, so we could start coordinating the trades and creating our installation plan with a cable list for the electrician.

Solution

At the beginning of 2019, the planning for the smart home was completed and construction of the distribution began - with all functions from audio to access. Even before the final completion, Loxone announced the new audio server. The exchange for the old music server was quickly decided. In addition to audio, an extensive lighting concept with numerous Loxone lights was also installed. The basic lighting with LED spots has been supplemented with LED strips and hanging lights and now offers the perfect lighting mood for every situation. The external blinds on the building are all controlled via Loxone and, thanks to automatic shading in combination with the decentralized Leaf fans, ensure a pleasant indoor climate even in summer. The individual room control of the underfloor heating ensures the desired warmth in winter - from the work room to the children's room to the fitness room.

The entire building also has networked smoke detectors and a burglar alarm system with Loxone - and of course water sensors for early warning of water leaks.

A little later, a PV system with a SolarEdge inverter and a KEAB wallbox were put into operation and integrated into Loxone. The generation 1 mini server has now also been replaced with a new mini server and Apple HomeKit has been integrated. After the old intercom was initially installed, access is now also possible with the new Loxone intercom and via NFC Code Touch and the conventional mailbox automatically reports when a letter has been posted.

I am more than satisfied with the Loxone system. With the guys from DSHP GmbH, I had and still have a top partner right from the start, who has continued to support us with new functions since completion.
