So-called green walls, vertical gardens or green facades are a perfect way to bring more green into urban areas. Facade greenery not only offers ecological benefits, it also serves as an insulating material, promotes biodiversity, purifies the air, improves the microclimate, and therefore contributes to a better quality of life.



As beautiful as greened facades are in the urban jungle, the maintenance effort behind them is usually enormous. For this reason, Loxone partner Verdtical Ecosisteme specialises in the intelligent control of vertical gardens. Loxone ensures easier maintenance of sophisticated green walls thanks to its open scalability. The Miniserver enables the integration of a wide range of automations, whether it's lighting, irrigation, monitoring or energy efficiency. Unnecessary manual tasks are easily minimised, and important resources are conserved.

The office building's vertical garden consists of 20 panels with different zones. The Enmotic virtualization platform connects to the Loxone Miniserver and collects data from multiple groups of installations simultaneously.



Humidity control of each panel is done individually, as each plant has different needs. If the required humidity is exceeded, a warning is sent as a phone notification. If there is too little water, irrigation is automatically switched on.



In addition, the salt content of the substrate is also controlled. In case of excess, a warning is also sent to the relevant smartphone. The temperature and humidity sensors determine whether continuous watering is required or not.
