Challenge
The challenge was to build an automated smart home for a single family. and keep the build simple and user friendly. The house have a solar roof and various systems that had to be integrated and visualized with Loxone.
The plan was to integrate and control the PV system and battery system with Loxone for energy management and also to controle and charge the Loxone Wallbox with solar power.
We also had to control the heating, ventilation and monitor the doors and windows.
Solution
In good coordination with the client, we created a home controlled and visualized with Loxone. The focus was energy management. We created an energy management program to control the PV and battery system. The system logs the consumption of the house and compare it to a solar forecast. If needed the system automaticly buys electricity to the battery when the price is low. We also integrated EV charging, with both PV power and when the price is low.
All the lighting are set up to work differently during morning/day/night and by the function of the rooms. The lighting is s mixture of LED stripes and LED bulbs.
The underfloor heating is controlled and when there are no need for heating, the combinated heatpump/ventilation shifts down. The heatpump is controlled with modbus air.
The rooms on the upstairs floor have skylights and if the temparature gets to high, the Velux skylights automaticly opens up, if the conditons is right. The Velux shades are also integrated. The system also monitors the air quality and if its to bad, the ventilation system ramps up.
All the door and windows are monitered for security.
We choose Loxone because the client requested the system and because we had earlier created a energy management solution with Loxone. This combination was very exiting.
