Challenge
The dream of your own smart home became a reality in 2018 for this family in Bavaria, Germany. In addition to access, lighting, shading and security, a major focus was placed on the topic of energy management in the single-family home.
Solution
An NFC Code Touch was placed next to the entrance door and garage, with which the owners can easily enter their home using an NFC key fob or code. The lighting in your own home has a major impact on your well-being. This is why a wide variety of lighting moods can be selected throughout the house to create the perfect atmosphere. Above all, the pendant lights in the dining area provide soft light. On the upper floor, an impressive yet cozy seat window invites you to linger. The built-in spotlights elevate this comfy spot even more. Even in the sauna, the lighting mood and music can be easily changed using the built-in Touch Surface without having to leave the sauna. The Touch Surface was also built into the kitchen counter top. This is a very practical, feature, as it can be operated easily even with wet or dirty hands.
The living room can be transformed into a home theatre with just a push of a button. The TV turns on, the music stops, the blinds go down and the right lighting mood turns on. Automatic shading is also an integral part of the smart home. On the one hand, this serves as a privacy screen and, on the other hand, helps to save energy.
In particular, the energy management was solved perfectly here, since the electricity produced from the PV system is used at an optimum thanks to the control by Loxone. The result: A degree of self-sufficiency of 90%! If there is enough excess energy available, various consumers switch on and can be prioritized one after the other in order to use the energy efficiently. For example, the wallbox integrated into the Loxone system automatically starts charging the e-car, the heating element for hot water preparation is turned on, the battery storage is filled up, etc. The energy flow is clearly displayed in the Loxone app at all times. If desired, various charging modes can also be started manually via a Touch Pure Flex in the garage. Thanks to other smart features such as intelligent individual room control of the heating, the demand for heating energy was more than halved compared to the average consumption of a single-family home.
