Challenge
Building automation requires explanation. Those facing an investment decision often struggle to visualize the impact of comprehensive automation on daily life from brochures, videos, or app screenshots. Therefore, we were looking for a location in the region where LOXONE could be operated directly, not just explained: inviting, livable spaces rather than a trade show booth, easily accessible rather than hidden away in an industrial park—and with an installation comparable to what we would install in a private home.
Solution
In a luxury living showroom in the pedestrian zone of Friedrichshafen, e-team Smart Home implemented complete building automation using LOXONE—as a fully-fledged installation, not just a demonstration setup.
The luxury lighting is integrated via DALI, complemented by continuous indirect lighting with 24V LED strips and automated exterior lighting. Shading, multi-room audio, and media control all run on the same system. Operation is via LOXONE Touch, Touch Nightlight, and touchscreen—or by voice using Siri and LOXONE.
Security and building protection are fully integrated: alarm system, fire alarm system, water detectors, video doorbell, and access via NFC or code. The building actively provides feedback—in-room via text-to-speech, and via the LOXONE Caller Service when no one is present.
On the energy side, photovoltaics, energy management, and the LOXONE Wallbox with charging management are integrated. Even the kitchen appliances are part of the system.

Explaining things doesn't help much. People need to press the button themselves and see how the room reacts—after that, the conversation is completely different. That's precisely why we built the showroom on LOXONE: a system for lighting, shading, audio, security, and energy, without any isolated solutions. What works here will work exactly the same way for the customer.
