New COPHIMEC building

COPHIMEC is a French SME specializing in CNC machining and turning, focusing on high-value-added parts, from pre-series to medium volumes, in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and engineering plastics. Its quality system guarantees metrological controls and complete traceability. It also manages finishing, streamlined logistics, and serves clients in France and internationally.



As part of the construction of its new building, COPHIMEC sought to integrate the Loxone automation solution to control key functionalities such as lighting, shading, and indoor climate.

LIGHTING: All office lighting is provided by DALI LED panels and is fully automated: it switches on as soon as movement is detected and switches off after a period of inactivity. Centralized control also allows all circuits to be switched on or off with a single action. Lighting in corridors, restrooms, and outside is controlled by an on/off system via relays from the Relay Loxone extension.



SHADE: All 22 adjustable external blinds (BSO) are controlled via Nano 2 Relay Trees, ensuring automatic and optimal positioning of the slats, thus maximizing light and heat gain. The BSOs open when the first employee arrives and close automatically after the last one leaves, also contributing to overall comfort. In the event of a high wind warning, the building's protection system activates to raise the BSOs and thus protect them.



DETECTION: Motion detectors are discreetly installed in all rooms and zones to automatically turn on the lights when movement is detected and turn them off when no one is present. The external venetian blinds (BSO) are also controlled based on occupancy in different rooms. The detectors also allow for the triggering of scenarios and daily energy savings.



ENERGY: An energy flow monitor, using Loxone three-phase energy meters located in the electrical panel, allows for precise tracking of the building's electricity consumption across the various circuits: electrical outlets, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, as well as all the building's lighting. The building's domestic hot water tank is also controlled via a heating schedule.



CONTACTS: Standard Touch interfaces are present in all rooms and consolidate all essential functions into a single control point: lighting management, temperature and humidity measurement, and control of the external venetian blinds. Custom Touch Pure Flex interfaces are also installed in the management offices to provide additional functionality.



INTERIOR CLIMATE CONTROL: The building benefits from intelligent, room-by-room climate control thanks to smart thermostats, allowing for precise temperature adjustments as needed. The cassettes located throughout the offices are controlled via Modbus and efficiently provide heating and cooling. Users have customizable schedules and comfort settings that can be modified according to their schedules and preferences. Electric convectors are also controlled to effectively regulate the temperature in the changing rooms.



AWAY MODE: When the last employee leaving the building activates Away Mode, a series of automatic actions ensures a smooth departure, such as automatically switching off the lights, closing all external blinds, and switching the air conditioning to economy mode. All activation/deactivation of Away Mode is logged, as are all other events related to building automation.



MISCELLANEOUS: The centralized management interface provides real-time access to all key building information such as lighting, temperature, and occupancy. Users can easily control these parameters remotely and access detailed history and statistics, ensuring efficient management.
