Smart School and Energy Management

The municipality was struggling with the high operating costs of an outdated school building with worn-out electrical wiring. The goal was a complete renovation, a significant reduction in energy bills, a healthy environment for pupils and teachers, and maximum automation of building management.

We deployed a Loxone system that controls heating, automatic shading based on the weather station, and DALI lighting that responds to daylight and the presence of people in the classrooms. In the next phase, the building will measure air quality and control ventilation based on CO2 levels. Pupil access is handled with NFC tags. The system intelligently distributes the energy it generates – primarily covering the school's own consumption and automatically sending any surplus to other municipal buildings (wastewater treatment plant, recycling centre, public lighting, etc.).
We already know that energy savings exceed 70%. On top of that, the children have a healthy climate for learning.
