Challenge
The plan for this detached house was to integrate a photovoltaic system, battery storage, MENNEKES wallbox, and heat pump into a central energy management system. The goal was to utilize the available solar energy as efficiently as possible within the building, reduce grid consumption, and intelligently coordinate the various energy consumers.
Solution
LOXONE centrally integrates the energy data from the photovoltaic system, the SMA battery system, the MENNEKES wallbox, and the heat pump. PV generation, household consumption, battery charge level, as well as grid consumption and feed-in are clearly visualized.
Depending on the available PV surplus, the battery charge level, and the current energy demand, the wallbox and heat pump are controlled as needed. Excess solar energy can thus be used preferentially for charging the electric vehicle or operating the heat pump. This increases self-consumption, reduces grid consumption, and efficiently distributes the available energy within the building.

"With LOXONE, we were able to combine our photovoltaic system, battery storage, wallbox, and heat pump into an intelligent overall system. The self-generated energy is automatically used where it can be used most effectively at any given time."
