Challenge
A system for intelligent home and building automation was to be integrated into this massive wooden house in Böbingen. Since the building owner was unsure whether he should use KNX or Loxone, he asked Clever2Smart. After viewing the showroom together with Clever2Smart, the decision was clearly in favor of Loxone.
Solution
One challenge was that this house had a solid wood ceiling. Therefore, only surface-mounted spots were used for the lighting and loudspeakers. All lighting in the house is based on DALI, and intelligent control with Loxone is made possible by the DALI Extension. Various lighting scenarios can be created at any time using the Loxone app to create the right atmosphere for every occasion. Presence detectors ensure that the lighting is only switched on where someone is present.
The shading was integrated into Loxone using the Nano 2 Relay and offers sun protection, privacy and energy efficiency. It adapts to the position of the sun and the room temperature, so that the natural heat is used for heating in winter, while the rooms are protected from overheating in summer.
A particular focus of this project was on the topic of audio. The client is a passionate hobby musician, and so it was natural that music would not only be played in the rehearsal room. Thanks to Loxone's flexibility, integrating third-party speakers was no problem. There are speakers in every room of the house, which makes it possible to fill all rooms with the same or different music.
Lighting, shading and audio can also be controlled manually using the controls in the house. In addition to the elegant Touch Pure Tree in the rooms, the Touch Surface was installed on the kitchen worktop. This turns practically any surface into a control element. With a click in the middle you can change the lighting mood in the entire room. The left and right buttons are responsible for controlling shading and audio. For example, the shading can be adjusted, the volume changed or the music source changed with just one click.
The intercom in combination with the NFC Code Touch provides a secure access system to the house. Residents can enter the house by entering a code, NFC Smart Tag or NFC Key Fob. Access authorizations are managed conveniently via the Loxone app. In addition, the Loxone app immediately shows who is ringing the doorbell.
A special highlight in this house is the sauna and pool. Both were integrated into Loxone, which means that the homeowner can also take on some of the tasks in this area.
