The detached house was completed and occupied in 2025.



Originally, the building was equipped with a KNX control system. After about six months of use, it became apparent that the operation of the moods and scenes, as well as the desired level of automation, did not meet the homeowner's expectations.



Since it was a new build, modifying the existing wiring or the installed control elements was not possible. The goal was therefore to implement a significantly more convenient, flexible, and energy-efficient solution – without any structural modifications.

The existing KNX installation was completely overhauled.



All KNX actuators were replaced with Loxone components, while the existing KNX buttons and sensors in the rooms were retained and integrated via the Loxone KNX Extension.



The entire home automation and logic control system was migrated to Loxone.



Furthermore, all building services systems were centrally and comprehensively integrated into Loxone:



Air conditioning, ventilation, brine-to-water heat pump, and PV system were integrated and intelligently interconnected.



Energy management via Modbus, EEBUS, and the Loxone Energy Flow Monitor, focusing on efficiency, self-consumption, and surplus energy control.



Lighting via DALI (recessed spotlights and Occhio lights) as well as various LED strips.



Audio system in the party room with six 10" speakers.



Full control of the underfloor heating and electric radiators in the bathrooms.



Integration of a weather station for optimized control of heating, air conditioning, shading, and energy flows.



Around 70% of the house's functions are now controlled based on occupancy, significantly reducing manual operation and noticeably improving comfort, energy efficiency, and everyday usability.
