Challenge

This project started out as an existing detached house. The aim was to transform the upper floor into an intelligent flat and create a modern living area above the garage with an integrated home cinema and adjoining lounge terrace.



The technology was to be unnoticeable and operation to be as simple as possible for the end customer. In addition to the invisible technology, all the comfort functions such as presence-dependent lighting, heating, audio and security functions were to be utilised. Due to the size and amount of window areas (including skylights). There was also issues of ‘heating due to solar radiation’ being an important topic that needed to be considered within the project.

Solution

While supporting the customer in the planning from the outset, we were able to select the best control components for this project. This meant that naturally, the Loxone Miniserver was selected as the central component.



The vertical awnings and infrared radiators are certainly a highlight on the lounge terrace, creating a wonderful feel-good atmosphere. Even though these comfort functions require a lot of energy, we have also optimised energy efficiency, e.g. standby devices are specifically switched off or the infrared radiators are also switched off when the patio doors are locked and depending on presence, thus ensuring that valuable energy is only consumed when it is really necessary.

We as a partner: <br /><br /> <br /><br /> Thanks to the open interfaces, it was no problem for us to seamlessly integrate third-party devices such as AV receivers, DVB-S receivers, projectors and other devices into the system. As requested by the customer, the technology remained in the background and the operation was implemented in a very accessible way. The combination of smart home and home cinema was a very exciting challenge for us, the customer is very satisfied with the solution and the implementation. <br /><br /> <br /><br /> Customer Statement: <br /><br /> <br /><br /> In addition to the ease of use and the many possibilities to customise the system technically, what I like best is that I was able to use both software and hardware from one manufacturer (Miniserver, Audioserver, switches, spots, smoke detectors, etc). <br /><br /> <br /><br /> I can access my home and look up information at anytime from anywhere in the world. If my requirements or lifestyle change, I can adapt my home to my needs at any time. <br /><br /> <br /><br /> The first time I held the remote control in my living room, the cinema screen went down at the touch of a button, the lights went out, the blinds darkened the room, the projector started up and I was able to enjoy a 4K film. That's absolute home comfort that I wouldn't want to do without.
