Challenge
The Miniserver of one of the major telecommunications operators required monitoring of electricity consumption and technical conditions in rack cabinets.
The aim of the project was to utilise electricity, infrastructure and the continuity of telecommunications systems.
Monitoring of multiple power supply circuits – DC/AC converters powered a total of 20 variable AC circuits, whose devices measure energy and current parameters during operation.
Temperature monitoring in critical devices – requires temperature measurement at the location: directly on the device, near the inverters and on the rack cabinets.
Early anomaly detection – the system enabled alarms to be triggered when thresholds were exceeded or energy consumption by individual circuits was limited. Scalability and connectivity – the installation can be expanded with an additional cabinet and remote access in the future.

Solution
For the implementation of a project connected to the Loxone automatic system, which provides comprehensive monitoring, visualisation and automatic alerting within a single platform.
Care solutions used:
Energy measurement at the AC circuit level – LOXONE Modbus module and Eastron and ORNO meters, which continuously monitor electricity and current on each of the 20 circuits. The data is archived and visualised in real time.
Temperature monitoring in switches – LOXONE 1-Wire expansion module and digital temperature sensors, strategic devices within the rack cabinet (on the device, near inverters and on devices).
Remote transmission and alerting – automatic control system in a mobile application or e-mail in case of exceeding alarm thresholds or current consumption.
Visualisation and reporting – the Loxone application provides graphs and reports on energy consumption, trend applications and power optimisation.
Thanks to the implementation, it is possible to use the power supply of the cabinet with installed converters, with the ability to react immediately to additional security measures for the telecommunications infrastructure.

Our goal was to gain detailed insight into the power supply and operating conditions in rack cabinets with installed DC/AC converters. The Loxone system is a secure device – it not only allows you to monitor parameters in real time, but also automatically supervises deviations from the norm.<br /> This allows us to react proactively before a minor anomaly turns into a failure. It is possible to use data visualisation and expansion options.
