Smart retrofitting

As no comprehensive renovation was planned, there was only an opportunity to lay new cables in the kitchen. For this reason, we were looking for a solution to retrofit a smart home. The aim was to integrate an existing photovoltaic system, an energy storage unit and a charging infrastructure into the smart home system. In addition, the focus was on the following functions: security, access control, lighting control, sound system and heating control.

Thanks to the use of Air components, retrofitting was easy as no new wiring was required. Existing switches were replaced with Touch Air models in all rooms, supplemented by the installation of presence detectors. To control the heating, we installed Valve Actuator Airs and Door & Window contacts. These ensure that the heating is automatically deactivated during ventilation and that the house is heated according to a set schedule. The window contacts are also integrated into the alarm system.



New cables for the Loxone spots and a jukebox were installed in the kitchen. Smart Socket Airs were used in the other rooms to enable various lighting scenes. A tree meter was installed to integrate the existing photovoltaic system and storage unit.

Access to the house was implemented using an NFC Code Touch and an electric motorized lock.



The combination of Air and Tree components and their seamless connection in a uniform system, which is controlled centrally via the Loxone App, enabled us to transform the existing house into a comprehensive smart home without much effort. We are delighted with the uncomplicated and user-friendly nature of the system.
