Challenge

The modernization of the existing system was based on a comprehensive preliminary analysis of the technical conditions of the building. A key objective was to adapt the operation of the technical systems to the applicable operating guidelines, particularly with regard to the requirements arising from the use of EU and national subsidies.

Through careful planning and selection of the appropriate automation technology, we were able to ensure that the solution is not only technically feasible, but also compliant with regulations and future-proof.

Solution

In the kindergarten project, we only had limited technical options available to us in the first implementation phase. Therefore, a solution for monitoring and controlling three heating systems was initially proposed, which responds flexibly to the respective requirements of the building.

A Robur absorption heat pump is primarily used for heating the building. Hot water is provided by Nibe air source heat pumps, which also serve as a supplementary heat source for the building. On particularly cold days with high heat demand, a gas boiler is activated as a supplement.



Central control is handled by the Loxone Miniserver, which uses the Modbus TCP/IP protocol to record system parameters and evaluate temperature data from the OPEC controller and the Nibe controller. On this basis, control is time-controlled or based on individually defined specifications.

In the future, the Miniserver will be able to optimize the system so that the most economical heat source is prioritized for use – including analysis of media costs.

In addition, the Miniserver monitors the operation of the photovoltaic system. The entire system is managed by authorized personnel via the Loxone app and the associated web interface. In the event of deviations or malfunctions, an email notification is automatically sent to the responsible contact person.



This project demonstrates how even with limited resources, a smart and future-oriented solution can be implemented with Loxone.
