Challenge
In the heart of Cantabria, near the town of Liérganes, lies the Las Albarcas Rural Inn. The main objective of this project was to provide a system that would allow the owners to remotely control the accommodation and automate tasks that would normally require them to have staff on-site.
Solution
Taking advantage of the comprehensive renovation carried out at the business, the Loxone automation system was chosen for integration. Thanks to its power and integration flexibility, all the functionalities agreed upon with the owners during the design phase could be automated.
Due to the changeable climate in this area of Spain, one of the client's critical points was having efficient control of the heating system. In this case, zoning was implemented for each of the rooms and common areas of the accommodation. This provides greater comfort for guests and energy savings for the property, as only the rooms that are actually occupied at any given time are active. Furthermore, occupancy is monitored through presence sensors located in each room, adjusting the system mode to achieve even greater energy savings.
Another key integrated functionality is the access control system using NFC codes. Access controllers were installed both at the main entrance of the accommodation and in each room, allowing for the creation of personalized access codes integrated with the business's PMS system.
In addition to the above, the exterior lighting was integrated with an automatic program that responds to sunlight, turning on and off daily at the exact sunrise/sunset times based on the installation's geographical location.

The measures implemented improve guest comfort, energy efficiency, and, importantly, reduce business operating costs.
