Pumping station - camping

Challenge

We want pump failures, high water levels, and power outages to be reported immediately to the appropriate person. The reporting chain must be simple and reliable, with proof that the report has been received. We also want to be able to easily expand to additional pumping stations within a single system, regardless of the pumping station manufacturer. This reduces the risk of flooding and minimizes downtime, even outside office hours.

Solution

S — Screening

We inventoried the existing pump controller signals (fault, high level, supply voltage).

L — Local Insight

We determine which contacts are read per pump well and perform end-to-end tests on the reporting chain. Energy metering helps identify abnormal consumption.

I — Integration (Loxone)

The Miniserver Compact reads the fault contact from the pump controller. We provide a Modbus RTU expansion to read fault details. Notifications are sent via push notifications and email with clear text/location information. The architecture is scalable: multiple pump wells in the same system, manufacturer-independent.

M — Monitoring

Real-time status and alarm log → transmission → reception. Escalation if no acknowledgement is received.

M — Management

Management of recipients and time windows (day/night), change log for text and priorities.

R — Review

Periodic alarm testing and fine-tuning of thresholds and escalation.

Faults, high levels and power outages now reach the right person immediately—one system for all our wells, regardless of brand.
