Building automation enables intelligent shading that adapts flexibly to different requirements. As this is a rental property, the challenge was to develop a solution that could be accepted by the majority.

The automatic shading system combines several features: It allows manual operation, blocks the sun on hot days for passive cooling and makes maximum use of daylight. On cold days, the sunlight is used specifically for heating. The system also ensures privacy, automatically moves the shading to a safety position in stormy weather and prevents it from lowering when the patio doors are open.

All automatic features can be easily switched on or off so that each user can adjust the shading individually.

When renovating the building, owner Markus Oegerli placed particular emphasis on energy efficiency, sustainability and living comfort. These principles are reflected in the use of natural building materials, an in-roof photovoltaic system, a comfort ventilation system, a heat pump with cooling feature and a thermally insulating building envelope. In addition, the intelligent building automation system increases living comfort in the PlusEnergy house and optimizes the use of the building's own solar power. This sustainably reduces the ancillary costs for the mastery, while at the same time creating an energy-efficient and future-proof living solution.
