Challenge
In the peaceful town of Costa-Cunit, El Vendrell, stands an outstanding Passive House, a home designed to harmoniously merge modern comfort with environmental sustainability. This home embodies the essence of energy efficiency, designed to achieve a perfect balance between comfort and respect for the environment.
The objectives of this Passive House were clear from the beginning: minimize energy consumption and maximize the comfort of its inhabitants. One of the main objectives was to seek maximum efficiency in climate management, making the most of available natural resources and minimizing dependence on non-renewable energy sources.
In addition, one of the main objectives was also to automate processes of daily life, such as one of them, the automatic control of a swimming pool, air renewal to achieve quality air inside the home, the alarm and the control of cameras or, for example, the management of different environments within the house thanks to LED lighting.
The objectives of this Passive House were clear from the beginning: minimize energy consumption and maximize the comfort of its inhabitants. One of the main objectives was to seek maximum efficiency in climate management, making the most of available natural resources and minimizing dependence on non-renewable energy sources.
In addition, one of the main objectives was also to automate processes of daily life, such as one of them, the automatic control of a swimming pool, air renewal to achieve quality air inside the home, the alarm and the control of cameras or, for example, the management of different environments within the house thanks to LED lighting.
Solution
The solution implemented in this Passive House in Costa-Cunit, El Vendrell, was a meticulous combination of Loxone technologies to guarantee a comfortable, efficient and safe environment for its inhabitants.
Firstly, a highly energy efficient LED lighting system was installed, controlled by Loxone, which allowed the intensity and color of the light to be adjusted according to the needs and preferences of the residents. Along with the management of different environments and scenes that are customizable and controllable from the Loxone app.
To regulate the entry of sunlight and maintain an optimal interior temperature, an automatic shading system was implemented that integrates perfectly with the home automation system, guaranteeing a comfortable environment in all seasons of the year.
Climate control was carried out using an aerothermal system, controlled by Modbus, which took advantage of the energy of the outside air for heating in winter and cooling in summer, guaranteeing constant and efficient thermal comfort. It should be noted that this technology only serves as a support, since the Passive house stands on its own,
To ensure optimal indoor air quality, an air renewal system with CO2 sensors was installed, which activated ventilation when carbon dioxide levels exceeded the established thresholds, thus guaranteeing a healthy environment at all times, all thanks to to the CO2 sensors that are already integrated into many Loxone devices.
The security of the house was reinforced with a complete alarm system, which included motion detectors, door and window sensors integrated into the frame, and Dahua cameras integrated with the Loxone system, providing complete and discreet surveillance of the property, all This is integrated from the Loxone app itself.
Additionally, an intercom (Intercom) access control system was implemented, allowing residents to control who accesses the property from anywhere, and a generator set control system, which automatically switched in the event of power outages. and automatically notified the user.
The Tesla charger was integrated into Loxone, allowing you to control its energy use and management efficiently. A Huawei solar system was also integrated through Modbus, which took advantage of surplus energy to heat the sanitary water, the pool and charge the Tesla car, thus contributing to the energy sustainability of the house.
Automatic control of the pool was achieved using an Aquastar Loxone valve and a Modbus-controlled salinization and pH control system, which ensured optimal water maintenance without the need for manual intervention.
To complete the smart home experience, the Audioserver distributed audio system was incorporated, allowing residents to enjoy their favorite music in any room of the house, easily controllable from the Loxone app. Additionally, the Audioserver is configured to function as a notification element, informing residents of any alarms, notifications or calls, ensuring they never miss important information even while enjoying their entertainment.

Loxone allowed us to integrate adjustable LED lighting systems, climate control with aerothermal energy, air quality management, security with alarm and cameras, efficient energy charging with Tesla and solar, automatic pool control and Loxone's own audio system, the Audioserver. This solution guaranteed a comfortable, efficient and safe environment for residents, demonstrating the potential of sustainable technology in homes of the future.
