Off grid modular house

The aim of the project was to create a modular house with a small area that could be used as a house on a plot of land or a mobile office.

Indirectly, we also used the facility to test solar roof tiles and their cooperation with the energy storage, as well as to examine the savings resulting from the energy management system based on Loxone.

We managed to implement a house project fully controlled by the Loxone system. The house is self-sufficient, energy is obtained from photovoltaics. It is heated by heating mats under the floor and air conditioning. When the energy storage is not sufficiently charged, heating/cooling is provided by shading based on an electric curtain rod.



The lighting is based on LED strips, which also consume negligible amounts of energy. However, if the light intensity is too low, the system will check whether opening the curtains can replace turning on the light source.



Taking into account the assumed goals, significant savings were achieved as a result of a well-programmed home management system using the Loxone system.

Taking into account the standard operation of the installation, we are able to save about 37% of energy.



Moreover, we managed to optimally manage the connection of the solar roof tile with the energy storage so that, despite low energy production, it could supply the modular house with it. Shading management helped us significantly in terms of heating/cooling the building, based on external factors the system was able to select the best option.



Due to electric heating, the building could accumulate energy during the highest energy production on a given day.
