Luxury Pool Automation

Challenge

A high-end spa required an existing luxury pool to run with zero unplanned downtime and minimal staff interaction with the plant room. Manual operation increased the risk of missed issues outside staffed hours - such as pump/filtration faults, abnormal filter pressure, heating drift, hidden plant room leaks, chemical supply running low, and unexplained water loss/dilution. The goal was to make the pool plant self-managing, constantly supervised, and quick to react, while keeping operations simple for staff and invisible to guests.

Solution

We delivered a Loxone-based automation and remote monitoring system that manages the pool plant in real time and reduces routine manual tasks. The system provides a clear operational dashboard and live status for:

-Heating control: pool water temperature and setpoint control, plus LPHW flow/return temperature monitoring and heating valve status for stable performance.

-Filtration & circulation: live pump status, variable-speed (Hz) monitoring, and filter pressure tracking to spot issues early and support automated maintenance routines.

-Leak prevention: plant room leak detection with immediate alerts and clear “safe/unsafe” status.

-Balance tank & top-up: live balance tank level, top-up valve state, manual top-up control, overflow control, and logged top-up activity.

-Water usage & dilution insight: water added today / yesterday / this month / last month / total, giving instant visibility of abnormal dilution or hidden losses.

-Auto dosing oversight: dosing unit status plus acid and chlorine drum level monitoring, reducing the chance of chemical-related incidents.

-Manual override controls: safe on-site overrides (auto/manual and high-speed options) for engineers and staff when needed.

Result: 24/7 remote supervision, fewer staff touchpoints, faster fault response, and a much lower risk of “surprise failures” in a site where downtime isn’t acceptable.

We chose Loxone because it allows us to combine automation, monitoring, and push-alerting in one reliable platform, with an interface that’s simple for staff but powerful for engineers. It gives constant visibility of critical plant conditions - pump status and speed, filter pressure, heating performance, leak detection, balance tank level, and water top-up trends - so issues are identified early and dealt with before they become downtime.
