Load management wallboxes
- Country DE, München
- Build year 2024
- Area 400 m²
- LOXONE partner DSHP Gebäudeautomation und Energie GmbH

Challenge
In an existing underground car park in the middle of Munich/Schwabing, all 24 parking spaces are to be equipped with dynamic load management.
Solution
After an initial telephone conversation with the on-site planner, Loxone was chosen as both the load management system and the supplier of the wallboxes.
A corresponding plan was drawn up together with the on-site electrician and details discussed with the client.
The 24 wallboxes were to be operated between 11 and 1.38kW, i.e. with the option of switching to 1-phase charging during operation. At the start of the project, the modules that are now available in the Loxone Config were not yet available and a first version was programmed using sequence controls. Shortly before commissioning in March 2024, programming was made significantly easier with the new wallbox and load/charging management modules in the Loxone Config.
The load of the entire building is recorded using a converter measurement on a Modbus RTU meter. The power that is still available is made available to all active wallboxes. Thanks to dynamic load management, charging is always carried out with the maximum possible charging power that is available in the building without overloading the house connection.
All users have access to their own wallbox via the Loxone app and can see live what the current charging power is. The charging process can also be started or stopped.
Optionally, users can now also equip the wallboxes with their own NFC Code Touch and/or their own counter, for example to record the charging quantities of two vehicles separately.

With Loxone we can create customized dynamic charging and load management solutions without the customer incurring any ongoing costs. That is a huge advantage.
