Hotel Krone Speicher ****

The building, renovated in 2016, required a modern and reliable locking solution for both the exterior doors and the individual rooms. A unique aspect of the project was the existing locking system, including cabling to the door locks and card readers.

This existing infrastructure offered advantages but also presented challenges for the planning of the new solution. The goal was to reuse the existing cabling as efficiently as possible while simultaneously transitioning to a modern, flexible access control solution. Against this backdrop, the use of LOXONE Code Touch devices on a room-by-room basis proved to be an obvious and cost-effective option.

An additional challenge was integrating the system with the existing hotel software, "Protel." In particular, the integration via the necessary interfaces required careful coordination between the systems. However, thanks to the available technical capabilities and a clearly defined interface strategy, this integration was successfully implemented.

The system was implemented using LOXONE Code Touch devices, which were seamlessly integrated into the existing infrastructure. Thanks to the existing cabling, the Code Touch readers could be directly integrated without the need for extensive structural modifications.

Access to the room doors is now controlled via LOXONE relays, which are triggered when a valid guest card is presented to the Code Touch reader. This resulted in a reliable and user-friendly access solution. Flexible access options were also created for hotel staff, such as time-controlled codes or badges that can be issued individually.

The biggest challenge was integrating the system with the hotel software "Protel." This was solved using middleware developed by loftmynd.ch gmbh, which handles the communication between Protel and the LOXONE system. This allows guests managed in Protel to be transferred to the LOXONE system with just a few clicks.









... This leads to a significant simplification of the processes: The preparation and creation of room cards for arriving guests is reduced to a short, efficient work step and can be carried out within a few minutes.
