Hotel Franks 5*

During this hotel renovation, an existing bar was modernized and enlarged, a new outdoor pool was built with its associated technology, and a new sauna area was integrated on the third floor in a rooftop pool area. Three large saunas, two whirlpools and an outdoor pool were added, which meet the highest standards in both design and technical equipment.



A key difficulty was the hotel's limited electrical output, which was significantly exceeded by the expansion. The increased demands on the energy supply - especially due to the powerful saunas - required precise analysis and optimized load distribution to ensure efficient and safe operation.

In order to efficiently manage the hotel's limited electrical power and still ensure the operation of the new sauna area, outdoor pool and modernized bar, we opted for an intelligent energy management system. Loxone proved to be the perfect solution.



Why Loxone?



Loxone offers a comprehensive and flexible system that is ideal for complex building automation - especially in hotels where numerous electrical consumers such as saunas and lighting systems have to be operated in a coordinated manner. By using Loxone, we were able to:



- Dynamic load distribution: The system automatically prioritizes consumers so that when the load is high (e.g. when several saunas are running at the same time), low priority power consumers are throttled or temporarily switched off. This ensured operation despite limited capacity.



- Efficient energy management: Loxone enables energy consumption to be monitored and controlled in real time. The saunas are only operated when they are needed, which avoids unnecessary peak loads and energy waste.



- Seamless integration: Thanks to Loxone's open architecture, the system was easy to integrate into the existing hotel infrastructure. This meant that the bar lighting, heating systems and other electrical consumers could also be centrally controlled and optimized.



- User-friendliness: Loxone offers hotel staff an intuitive user interface with which they can easily control all important functions such as sauna activation, lighting and air conditioning - directly via a tablet or smartphone.
