Challenge
The precisely regulated, laboratory-like production conditions and the fixed feeding times cannot be flexibly adapted to the current electricity production. In order to ensure efficient operation, the battery storage system must switch intelligently between peak shaving and energy consumption optimization. This allows it to react flexibly and effectively to the dynamic requirements of ongoing operation.
Solution
By directly controlling the battery storage system with a capacity of 206 kWh, power peaks on the site can be prevented and the self-consumption of the 950 kWp solar system can be increased. With Loxone, the hot water preparation and the charging station for the electric vehicles also follow the path of the sun, thereby increasing self-consumption.
For our long-planned large construction project, we were looking for a partner who would work hand in hand with the already committed company GLB Elektro Seeland. The company Gerber AG was easily involved in our planning and took our digitalization on the farm to a new level with their specialist knowledge and the Loxone control system.

The agricultural business with a focus on poultry is therefore very complex because the electricity consumption is constantly very high both during the day and at night. This turned out to be a major challenge, especially when controlling the battery. Additional requests from us and unforeseen influences, such as charging the tenants' electric cars, kept the employees of Gerber AG busy for a long time.

We are very satisfied with the collaboration and the end result and they have made significant progress in terms of efficiency and profitability.
