Finsbury Barn

Finsbury Barn

Challenge

I was given the opportunity to design a system to integrate into a new build property which was erected from the shell of an old barn. Regardless of its history, the client wanted a modern finish as the property was being built to be sold, it needed to be an affordable installation for the developer whilst providing all the functions for the end purchaser.

Solution

At the planning stage I designed a neat and precise installation to include the control of lighting, heating, cooling, security, multimedia and energy. Anthracite Touch Pure switches were installed throughout, which compliment the design features beautifully. The LED light strips create feature lighting in various rooms, speciality extrusion for the stair glass balustrade gives a high-end look and the in-ceiling speakers fitted in every room provides that extra bit of luxury. Electronic door locks and a key pad enable ease of entry and added security. The Daikin air source heating/cooling system was a particular challenge, as this was a new unit and the installation technicians were not able to provide sufficient information for integration with Loxone, although this challenge was overcome by assistance with technical support.

With the Loxone installation being complete, this new build property has now been sold to its lucky new owners.
