Challenge

High level high wattage lights were installed in the shopping centre. After they were installed the client wished for the fittings to be able to be dimmable. This was a challenge as there was no previous wiring installed to allow standard 0-10v dimming.

Solution

The fittings specified were DALI controlled, through keeping up to date with Loxone products I knew that I could get a wireless DALI Air controller to then work with Loxone. The install covered 20x Lights in total, easy enough to get cabling in between, so I wired 2c cable across 10x lights to a Loxone DALI Air, controlled via a Loxone Touch Air all connected to a Miniserver Go. This gave the client the option to dim via "scenes" and allow them to save money in installation costs with the Loxone Air range making it a simple decision.

Loxone is still a control system fresh in my mind and I find it very easy to keep updated on products. I had an issue with the job due to the change of plan being dropped in so late but I knew I would be able to work around it somehow with Loxone straight away, after 10 minutes of investigation later on that evening I had confirmed my plan would work and ordered the needed products. All items were installed later that week.
