A lot of technology already exists in a modern dental practice. Unfortunately, these features are rarely networked consistently with each other and possible synergies remain undiscovered. This was the starting point for thinkinghouse GmbH.
The intelligent controls implemented at the dental practice recognise who logs in via their badge in the morning and reacts accordingly. Access is granted, the light is activated in the corresponding zones, the time recording of the respective employee’s schedule is started and the alarm system is deactivated. The main valves of the water and compressed air sources that supply the treatment rooms are activated alongside the heating. Air conditioning is adjusted and the light is switched to the correct operating mode. Finally, the appropriate background music is started. With this last step, the treatment chairs are ready for the patients. The intelligent controls adjust to the correct day and time of the week and recognise any deviation of the dental practice’s programmes schedule (e.g. cleaning team). The treatment-relevant components are not switched on for these occasions.
During the working day, the warm colour temperature in the waiting areas and the aisles is constantly adjusted according to the course of the sun. Treatment rooms that are not in use are automatically switched to stand-by mode until they are needed again. Thanks to an intelligent call system, the staff is always informed if any treatment room needs support. The entire practice team can be alerted via the call system in the event of a general medical emergency. Recurring tasks such as sterilising instruments are also supported by automation, as is monitoring and logging the temperature of the medicine refrigerator.
In the evening, the entire practice is shut down and the alarm system is activated once the last member of staff removes their badges.
The dentist has access to the entire building management system at all times via the Loxone App. This can be monitored and controlled at any time and from any location. Emergencies are first displayed via push notifications and the telephone alarm chain is started if there is no corresponding reaction registered.
