A key challenge in the BayWa project with the Loxone system lies in the integrated implementation of lighting control, roof window control, visualization of the heating and cooling situation using a heat pump and air conditioning system, and the implementation of comprehensive energy management through the integration of the photovoltaic system and several e-charging stations.

Lighting is controlled via the Loxone DALI Extension in combination with around 200 Loxone RGBW spots. Loxone presence and motion detectors are also used to ensure demand-based lighting control.



The roof windows are controlled via the Loxone Relay Extension. Automatic storm and rain protection is provided by the Loxone weather station installed on the roof of the utility room.



The heat pump receives the room temperatures recorded by the Loxone Touch or Touch Pure buttons via the Modbus Extension. This enables precise, room-specific temperature control.



Loxone actuators are used to control the concrete core activation and the underfloor heating, supporting zone-based and energy-efficient heat distribution.



The Mitsubishi industrial air conditioning units are controlled via the new Loxone AC Control Air modules, enabling seamless integration into the overall system.



Using M-Bus transformer meters, grid feed-in, grid consumption, and PV production are recorded and documented. The collected energy data is visualized via the Loxone app and is fully available to the energy management system.
