It is quite disturbing that the minimum brightness used for sleep is barely visible in normal daylight. Otherwise, the brightness of 1% could be even lower at sleeping.

I am not entirely sure what you mean, however I am assuming that you mean to have the inactive brightness of a Nightlight fairly high during the day, and very low at night.
If so the easiest means to achieve this would be to use an Analogue Multiplexer tied into the parameter for inactive brightness. Then simply use the selection input to switch between your two desired values.
