Which smart features will my HAB home have?
The great news is that your home will already be smart by the time you move in!
Your smart home system will help you to save energy through automatic lighting and intelligent, zoned heating. Your home will also boast advanced smart security features and generally assist with keeping your home running smoothly and efficiently.

Smart Lighting
In your home, you lighting always knows when it’s needed thanks to Loxone’s intelligent lighting control. When you enter a room, the lighting turns on automatically, taking into account the existing level of light in the room.
This smart lighting control reduces the number of times you’ll find yourself having to reach for a switch – and it saves on your electricity usage too.
Convenient control with touch switches
Controlling your lights is easy. You can control all the lighting in the room from a single switch, whether it is turning them on or off, or switching through the different lighting scenes – all of this is done with the touch of a single switch.
When you leave the house, a quick triple-tap on the switch in the hallway turns all the lights off in your home. Never again will you have to walk from room to room to switch the lights off!
Zoned Heating
Even before you get up in the morning, your smart home will get to work making sure it provides warmth on a cold winter’s day and keeps your home cool on a hot summer’s night.
Zoned heating also helps to save energy. In fact, Ofgem figures suggest that a zoned heating system can save as much as £400 a year on the typical dual fuel bill.
Should you go away on holiday, for some winter sunshine, your home can be set to ‘Frost Protection’ mode. By keeping the heating low and monitoring temperatures, the Frost Protection feature can help to protect your home, furniture and pipework from the damage that frost can cause.
Smart Security
A Loxone Smart Home provides a wide range of smart burglar alarm and security features. Your home thinks for itself and automatically ensures you, your family and your home are kept safe. At night when you are sleeping, your home stays alert. When you aren’t home, your home will automatically activate the alarm to protect against burglary.
When you move in, you’ll receive an electronic key (also know as an iButton). You can use this to arm/disarm your burglar alarm. Simply place the key fob against the reader in the hallway to arm or disarm the alarm. When the alarm is set, the LED ring will glow red. When the alarm is off, it will glow green, so it’s really easy to see the status of the alarm. You can also view the status of the alarm and arm or disarm it remotely from the Loxone app.
Convenient control via the app
We believe that the technology in our homes should make life easier, not harder. Your smart home system is just like an autopilot for a plane – it runs automatically according to a schedule to help free up some of the manual tasks you’d usually do every day, like switching lights on an off. There are some occasions, however, where you may want to take manual control, and that’s exactly what the app is for.
On the app you can check the temperature, see which lights are on (or off) in the house, and check on the status of the burglar alarm.
The Future-Proof Smart Home
The modular architecture of the Loxone Smart Home system means that you can expand your system at a later date; perhaps you’re thinking of installing a multiroom audio system or want to control blinds automatically. If so. you’ll be pleased to know that it’s possible to include these things in your smart home system.
The great thing about a Loxone Smart Home is that you can choose exactly what you’d like to automate. The system can control just your lighting and heating, for example, or alternatively, it can manage your whole home – from wireless smart plugs to control your lamps to intelligent charging schedules for your electric car. You can pick and choose the features that best suit your lifestyle and add to this when time (and budget) allow.
How does it do all this? With the Loxone Miniserver. The Miniserver is the heart of your home, enabling intelligent communication between different systems and devices in the home including the heating, lighting, blinds, windows and doors, locks, cameras, music, appliances and switches.
