Requirements for creating a
Loxone Partner Showroom

Our mission in it’s purest form is that living in a Loxone Smart Home gives people time to enjoy the more important things in life – and that can be a tricky idea to put across to a potential customer. To truly understand how this is possible, one would likely need to experience this concept for themselves; how a smart home could save up to 50,000 tasks per year. There is also the need to relay how a Real Smart Home simply knows what to do; that the concept is about automation that happens seamlessly around you rather than gimmicks that don’t actually improve life at home.

In your Loxone Showroom, your visitors should be able to experience this incredible way of life and the possibilities of a Real Smart Home.

Recommendations and requirements for a Loxone Partner Showroom

We recommend a floor space of between 50-70m² to be able to effectively demonstrate the different Real Smart Home functionality, laid out in different spaces or rooms such as:

Living/Dining/Kitchen area | Bedroom | Bathroom/WC

We recommend to completely darken one of the rooms so that you can demonstrate automatic shading. Having a darkened room also allows for you to effectively demonstrate lighting moods using a variety of Loxone lighting products.

Standards and Features

The following Standards and Recommendations should be implemented to be able to effectively demonstrate to potential customers what life in a Real Smart Home would be like.

Standards and Features

The following Standards and Recommendations should be implemented to be able to effectively demonstrate to potential customers what life in a Real Smart Home would be like:

Bedroom:

In general, the showroom should make guests feel welcome using a combination of multi-room audio, a suitable lighting mood, and a comfortable temperature. Throughout the showroom, you should also be able to scroll through different lighting moods with a tap on the centre touch point of a Touch as per the Switch Standard.

Specifically in the bedroom, keeping in line with the Touch Standard, a triple-tap on a Touch beside the bed should enable Night Mode. Once Night Mode has been activated, you should be able to demonstrate to your customers that a dimmed light level will turn on when motion is sensed. For this, we recommend installing LED strip beneath the outer edge of the bed.

Alarm Clock:

You should be able to demonstrate how your customer can easily set their alarm clock, to do this we recommend using the Touch Nightlight Air as it offers a range of functionality.

Living/Dining Area:

The focal point in a Loxone Showroom would be the stylish living/dining area; made to feel warm and inviting using a combination of the multi-room audio and ambient lighting – both of which should activate when your customer enters the space. A Remote Air should be available here to effectively show a single press of a button can transform the room from being suitable for reading, to be suitable for a party or watching TV. Using the Remote Air, your potential customers should scroll through these lighting moods themselves to realise the ease of control. You should also be able to demonstrate the ease of creating and saving new lighting moods within the Loxone Smart Home App.

Kitchen:

Throughout the showroom, you should be using a combination of lighting sources to be able to demonstrate how various combinations of these can be used to create lighting moods. Whenever a customer enters the kitchen specifically, the lighting mood that turns on should feature a bright light above the food preparation area. Using a Touch in room, you should then be able to scroll to a more relaxed yet still illuminating lighting mood that would be suitable in the dining area when eating.

The Touch Surface:

The Touch Surface is a fantastic option for an extra feature to impress potential customers. We recommend integrating a Touch Surface into the kitchen worktop or dining room table. It should be programmed to the Switch Standard. You should be able to explain how it is activated, and how it can be used to control the lighting, shading and multiroom audio – even with wet or messy hands from preparing food.

Bathroom:

When a customer enters the bathroom, the lighting and music should turn on automatically.
When Night Mode is being demonstrated, you should be able to show how the lighting that turns on in the bathroom is dimmed, so as not to dazzle them if they get up in the middle of the night.

Hall:

The hallway should be bright and welcoming for everyone that visits the showroom. In this space, you should be able to demonstrate the ‘House Off’ feature with a triple-tap on a Touch – as per the Switch Standard. You should physically demonstrate this and how it activates the burglar alarm, turns off the lighting (where practicable) and returns blinds to ‘automatic shading’ mode.

Security:

We recommend that you set up different alarm scenarios in the showroom so that you can effectively demonstrate the different safety and security features.

This is another security feature you should be able to demonstrate in the showroom. A long press on a Touch switch activates the Panic Button, which causes the lights to start flashing, the shading to open and an alarm tone to play on the multiroom audio speakers.

Access Control:

Your Loxone Showroom should include access control via the NFC Code Touch with an NFC Key Fob. You can demonstrate this pairing by having the alarm deactivate when you hold the NFC Key Fob up to the NFC Code Touch.

Your customers would likely have already interacted with the Intercom, but you can demonstrate how the doorbell tone is played via the Loxone Music Server when there is a visitor. You can also demonstrate the Intercom feed in the Loxone Smart Home App and how, from this view, you can also unlock the door.

Switch Standard:

The same in every room, in every position, every time.
For an intuitive ease-of-use, each Touch switch in the showroom should be configured to the Touch Standard. This ensures a consistency when interacting with a Real Smart Home – without the need for labels or trying to remember what the switches in each room are for. Within a few minutes, you can explain one concept that applies to all Touch switches.

Auto Configuration of a Loxone Showroom

A Loxone Partner Showroom should be configured using the Auto Configure function on Loxone Config. This ensures that the features that are realised in the showroom as those that we include in our advertising on our website, for example. A Loxone Showroom may not deviate from this functional specification, and may not contain custom configuration that detracts from the Loxone Standard. It is important that a Loxone Partner Showroom be an extension of the Loxone brand and that the latest version of our Config and the Loxone Smart Home App is always used.
