What can EnOcean do for me?

EnOcean is a simple yet powerful wireless technology that is used worldwide by many manufacturers. They produce a wide range of sensor and actuators, which are compatible with each other. There is a wealth of EnOcean components, including simple push-buttons and temperature sensors as well as switching and dimming actuators.

A feature of the EnOcean technology that differentiates it from others wireless technologies is this: Most EnOcean components work without batteries! The energy is provided by miniaturized energy converters. For example, a push-button or switch generates the power required to send a signal from the mechanical press of it. Other passive devices, such as temperature sensors, are often equipped with miniature solar cells.

Often people say that wireless automation technology is inferior, as it cannot deal with complex control or combinational logic due to computational constraints. However, with our extension you can send and receive the simple EnOcean signals to respond to the press of a button or switch a device, but at the same time the full grunt of the Miniserver is available to make any intelligent decisions.

Hence you can have automatic blinds or PID controlled heating, in fact anything that the Miniserver is capable off, but use wireless sensors and actuators.
