Brünig Indoor shooting range

Brünig Indoor is an underground shooting range in Lungern in the Swiss canton of Obwalden. 

The facility was built in the rock of the Brünig and opened in 2002.  



The shooting range was originally equipped with an LCN system in 2002, but the system was now reaching its limits as many of the old components were becoming increasingly unreliable. The decision to switch to the Loxone system was the ideal solution to make both the control and visualization of the systems efficient and future-proof. "

Most of the lighting control was implemented using the DALI protocol, which enables precise and flexible control. The use of several miniservers ensures increased reliability, as the functionality of the other systems is still ensured if one server fails. The intelligent lighting control with Loxone also allows scenarios that can improve productivity through natural lighting. 

In addition to lighting control, several systems such as the ventilation and special areas, such as the shooting targets in the 300m stand, have already been successfully integrated. This connection ensures that both the lighting and the ventilation are controlled as required and in an energy-efficient manner. Integration into the higher-level Loxone system plays a particularly important role in the area of ventilation in order to ensure a pleasant climate in the mountain at all times and to save energy. 



Thanks to the intuitive visualization in the Loxone app, the entire power consumption can be tracked in detail. This enables precise analysis in order to identify potential savings and use energy more efficiently. Loxone therefore not only offers convenience and control, but also valuable support for a more conscious and sustainable use of resources. "
