Siemens Valve Actuator Control

So i need to control a Siemens 24v actuator with a 0-10v signal (https://www.downloads.siemens.com/download-center/Download.aspx?pos=download&fct=getasset&id1=A6V10811248)

The actuator has it’s own 24v DIN rail power supply fitted.

I’ve decided to connect it to a selection switch block, as i need to use the + and – as i have 2 x push buttons to take it up and down between the range of 0 and 10. Also this block has a analogue AQ output, so i have connected the actuator control signal straight to that output.

Now when the block is active and the + and – buttons are pressed this gives the output and i can also notice on the voltage output of the AQ1 increase and decrease to suit in live view, however the signal does not change the position of the actuator so say 10 would be 100% open, 5 would be 50% open and 0 would be closed.

I’ve checked the correction factors, and they seem to be fine. Am i missing something simple or trying to over complicate it? Or would there be a better logic block to use?

Hi Dean

I doubt this is something wrong in configuration but in installation. If 10V is open and Loxone is sending 10 then there is nothing else to do in Config.

Any voltage is the potential difference to GND, so have you connected the GND of your Loxone system to the correct GND reference on the Siemens actuator?

Hi Hugh
Many thanks for the reply.
I was under the impression that all the actuator needed was the 24v supply hence why it’s on its own din rail power supply, and then only the positioning signal. Quickly checking and running a GND cable from the middle analogue output black connector to the PSU this has helped the issue out.
I have other inputs connected to GND connections as normal, i obviously took for granted that this output didn’t require one due to other GND’s in place.
Thanks again.
