Logging Triggers

I have a client whom keeps contacting me stating that his hall light is on during the early hours of the morning when it should be off.

The light is simply controlled with two presence sensors (Mv output) to the Mv input of the lighting controller. There are no wall controls. He has no pets to set off the sensor.

Is there a way to log what is triggering the AQ1 output of the lighting controller and send the file to me.

One way might be to use the new presence block. Link the 2 presence sensors. No output.

The presence block also has the ability to log 20 – 50 presence detections. This can be viewed in the app as well. It may be of some help.

I agree, if we believe the motion sensors to be the activating device the presence block will indeed log them. Obviously you also need the lights to work as well so take Qpr from the Presence Block into P of the lighting controller. TH is now set on the Presence block not the Lighting Controller.

As another aside though, this will tell you which device is activating the lights but not why. Look for environmental factors such as heating coming on, ventilation, drafts, or any spaces above which might be vibrating the ceiling.

Finally the sensitivity of sensors can be adjusted to suit the install.
