Amplifier and Doorbell

Hi

It seems when the Loxone amplifier is put in sleep by the music server there is no doorbell ringing being send towards my loxone music speakers.

The lights flash as intended but no sound is being played. When the amplifier is up (green light) because music is playing the doorbell will ring else when its in sleep (red) no sound.

I have used the Loxone autoconfig as a startpoint and started tweaking from there. So in the central page a switch is placed with input the loxone doorbell and as output towards a marker "doorbell"

Anyone any ideas how to resolve this? Because most of the time the amp will be in sleep mode and no doorbell will be heard.

Kind regards

Kevin

Hi Kevin

When triggering the doorbell of the Music server it should wake up the amplifier and then after a start up delay (approx 2 secs) play the doorbell chime.

To check all is working as it should.

  1. The switch on the back of the amplifier should be set to ‘Trigger’ and not ‘Auto’ or ‘On’
  2. There should be a 3.5mm jack from the trigger output of the Music server to the Trigger in on the amp
  3. Use trigger should be enabled on the Music server in config
  4. The music zones should be linked to the doorbell, if using the retractive switch in auto-config, the output of this should be linked to the ‘Be’ input of either the individual zones or the Audio/Music Overview block.

Hi Hugh
Thank you for your response. I have checked the following:
Switch on amp is set to trigger and 3.5 mm jack is connected:

Trigger is enabled:
https://ibb.co/d7pt5md
The Marker "doorbell" is connected to the ‘Be’ input of the Music block:
https://ibb.co/rs8TdZN
Now after setting the amp to ‘trigger’ the music is not playing anymore in no room when pressing play on the touch or in the loxone app. If i place it in Auto mode i can play music and the chime rings when the music is playing.
I have 4 zones with each 1 wall speaker. They are connected to the amp on the left green connector for room 1, the 3rth green for room 2,.. . The white cables goes to room 1, room 2,.. as the manual states for mono mode. (in the picture Zone 1).

Any suggestions?

Hi Kevin

If the amp is set to trigger but doesn’t turn on when a zone starts playing, then the most obvious suggestion is that the trigger signal isn’t reaching the amp.

The trigger is a 12v signal, so unplug the trigger lead from the amp and test with your mustimeter. If you have an alternative 3.5mm cable you could use then try this as well.

Hi Hugh

I changed the 3.5 jack cable and now it works.. strange that the supplied out of the box cable is not able to work.

Anyways problem solved!

Kind regards
