How did your background lead you to your current business providing technology solutions in buildings?
Sean: I have a background in telecommunications and smart technology integration to multi-family, mixed use and boutique hospitality building projects. My start was in the unified communications space selling VoIP, I then launched my first company in 2009 as a technology broker, shortly after that launched my VoIP company in 2011. With the definite need for true smart and security integration to building networks I launched my third company in 2015 to provide a true “one stop shop” for all things technology for new builds and retro fits.
Why choose Loxone in your home to support your business?
Sean: Many of my friends are clients. My wife and I also love to entertain (pre-pandemic), over the years we do several yearly parties, and fundraisers so it was a natural fit to integrate Loxone into our home.

Problem & solution
What challenges were you able to overcome that Loxone was able to provide a solution for?
Sean: The typical challenges with cabling is now a breeze, as is bringing the high voltage lighting onto the platform – it is seamless. Single app control of the entire home is also a simple solution that breaks down the complications of “control”.
What special considerations went into lighting design?
Sean: A future ready “whole home solution”, including a handful of outdoor areas, a custom wine cellar coming in the spring and truly making the home automated. Loxone gives us the ability to add “analog” systems onto the platform by utilizing the inputs and outputs to control the wine cellar trap door and several other traditionally analog systems. The strip lighting will illuminate up from the wine cellar to the glass floor in the kitchen for a dramatic conversation point in the room.
The big benefit here is FULL lighting control of both low- and high-voltage lighting. Also, is the ability to have the house work seamlessly on motion and temperature sensors, no other technology vendor that we work with delivers this solution.
Our tip: Don’t judge a book by it’s… hidden technology
This library of books isn’t exactly what meets they eye on the outside. Simply pull forward and a secret powder room appears with automated lighting and ventilation.
What features and functionality are you looking forward to using in MDU solutions?
Sean: Single pane of glass management of all units and common areas for management/ownership, while also delivering individual unit control to the residents. The management company will have the ability to control lighting, window, door and water leak sensors as well as the thermostat in each unit remotely when the units are not occupied by tenants. The tenants will have individual control of their lighting scenes, thermostat and eventually unit and building access control all in one application!
