The Erich Schumm Foundation in Murrhardt envisioned a modern care center with a day care facility, medical practice, podiatry services, and a bistro, designed to significantly improve daily life for residents and staff. In addition to comfort and energy efficiency, the primary focus was on resident safety. Simultaneously, the project aimed to address the growing shortage of skilled workers with intelligent technical solutions and to streamline staff workflows.
The challenge lay in integrating the diverse requirements of nursing staff, building services, and administration into a central platform while ensuring intuitive operation for all user groups.

With LOXONE, the entire building has been intelligently networked, integrating all building services into a central system. Lighting, shading, climate control, energy management, and security functions work together automatically to ensure efficient and comfortable operation.
A particular highlight is the intelligent night mode: If a resident leaves their bed at night and does not return within a defined period, the care staff automatically receives a notification on their tablet. This allows residents to receive assistance more quickly and minimizes security risks.
A specially adapted user interface was developed for the care staff, providing all relevant information at a glance. Residents also benefit from individually adjustable lighting moods, which can be used specifically for dementia care.
The automation of lighting, shading, and climate control also reduces energy consumption and operating costs. The result is a future-oriented care center that combines safety, comfort, and efficiency, making everyday life easier for both residents and staff.
