The Intelligent Room Controller maintains a fixed room temperature and automatically switches between heating and cooling. Optionally, different Heating and Cooling sources, such as Climate Controllers and Fan Controllers can be configured. Additional outputs have the value of the active Heating/Cooling output, unless the respective source forces a different value (e.g. Minimum opening, etc…).

Inputs↑
Abbreviation | Summary | Description | Unit | Value Range |
---|---|---|---|---|
M | Mode | Mode 0 = Automatic: Actual and Target temperatures decide whether Heating or Cooling operation is activated. 1 = Automatic Heating: Heating only if required; Cooling outputs deactivated. 2 = Automatic Cooling: Cooling only if required; Shading outputs active, Heating outputs deactivated. 3 = Manual: Targets the Temperature set on input Tm, Heating or Cooling operation dependent on actual temperatures 4 = Manual Heating: Targets the temperature set on input Tm, Cooling and Shading outputs deactivated. 5 = Manual Cooling: Targets the temperature set on input Tm, Cooling and Shading outputs active; Heating outputs deactivated. | - | 0...5 |
Tm | Set Temperature | Analogue Input - Value to provide desired target temprature for operation in manual modes | º | ∞ |
Ti | Temperature | Current room temperature | º | ∞ |
Iw | Window | Window Contact (ONLY for automatic operation): OFF = Closed, ON = Open. If the Outside Temperature is lower (Heating) or higher (Cooling) than the Room Temperature, it is switched to "OFF" operation (Frost/Overheat Protection) for the duration of the opening. | Digital | 0/1 |
Ic | Comfort Temperature | Select "In Use" (Comfort Temperature) Starts "In Use" at ON (rising edge) and activates the Comfort Overrun (Tsc) at OFF (falling edge). When Tsc has elapsed, the set schedule continues. | Digital | 0/1 |
Ia | Not In Use | Selects "Not In Use" (Economy) Starts "Not In Use" at ON (rising edge) and activates Extension Timer (Tss) at OFF (falling edge) After Tss timer has run out the selected automatic mode is resumed. If Tss equals 0, the overrun timer will continue to run until the next change in the schedule. Temperature is controlled in the range between TaMin and TaMax. | Digital | 0/1 |
Io | Fabric Protection | "Off" Operation (Frost/Overheat Protection) Starts "Off" at ON (rising edge) and activates the Overrun Timer (Tss) at OFF (falling edge) After Tss timer has run out the selected automatic mode is resumed. If Tss equals 0, the overrun timer will continue to run until the next change in the schedule. Temperature is controlled in the range between TaMin and TaMax. | Digital | 0/1 |
Mv | Motion Sensor - Extension of In Use Temperature Entry | For signal from motion sensor. Pulse will extend the Comfort Temperature Entry. Starts Comfort at ON (rising edge) and activates the Extension Timer (Tmv) at OFF (falling edge) On rising edge the controller must be during a comfort temperature entry, otherwise the signal is ignored. After the duration of Tmv the set automatic mode continues. | Digital | 0/1 |
R | Reset | All active timers and delay timers (Tss, Tsc, Tmv) are stopped | Digital | 0/1 |
DisM | Disable Motion Sensor 'Mv' | When ON disables input Mv only | Digital | 0/1 |

Automatic Operation Selection↑
During Automatic operation, the block automatically decides whether to active Heating or Cooling. Different Upper and Lower limits can be configured for In Use, Not In Use, and OFF. If the Temperature is continuously outside these limits for at least 30 minutes, the system switches to Cooling (Upper limit) or Heating (Lower limit). For "OFF" operation, these limits are TsMin (Lower Limit) and TsMax (Upper Limit). Dependant on the active operation, different temperatures are used for control. In 'Not In Use' mode, this is the Lower limit for Heating and Upper limit for Cooling
Configurable Heating and Cooling Sources↑
Up to 3 Heating/Cooling sources can be configured. The module sends its request to these sources depending on the configuration. For each source, the ability to Heat or Cool can be configured. If the respective source is configured for Heating only, no Cooling request will be sent to this source, even if required. For each operation, a freely configurable priority list is set. The module's requests are then sent in the respective order. The list will go to the first source which can be used to supply the desired energy (Heating / Cooling). If the parameter "Use all Sources Simultaneously" is set, the request is also sent to all subsequent sources, otherwise it is only sent to those that are configured as "Cheap" for the respective operation. Available sources are periodically checked in order to be able to react to changes in active operation.
Source Outputs↑
For each source there are outputs for Heating, Cooling, and Heating + Cooling. The source outputs will only set the control value when the source is in the same operation, i.e Heating or Cooling. In systems that can Heat and Cool (such as ventilation systems or heat pumps), this prevent temperature fluctuations from developing in the room. If the value falls below the switch-on threshold of the Climate Controller, a minimum opening can be forced until the device has been switched off, after the minimum running time has elapsed.
Outside Temperature↑
The Outside Temperature, if available, is automatically read from the System Variables. The module only switches to "OFF" operation when the window is open if the Outside Temperature would adversely affect the current Heating/Cooling process.
Comfort Offset↑
The Comfort Offset can be used to switch to 'In Use' operation according to the calendar, regardless of the current target. The Comfort Temperature can increased or decreased. This change, unlike the timer, is valid until the next schedule entry, but with a maximum of 48h.
