As part of the Pilsner Urquell franchise, Plzeňka u Staré radnice brings back the tradition of a beloved pub in the heart of Ostrava's Lauby in the Czech Republic. Since the summer of 2024, guests have been coming here to enjoy the legendary Pilsner Urquell beer. A pleasant atmosphere, combined with thoughtful lighting, comfortable warmth, and perfect sound thanks to Master/Client, ensures the highest level of satisfaction – all made possible by Loxone's building automation.
The Pub came to life again
The Lauby district, derived from the word “Podloubí” (arcades), is historically part of the center of Ostrava and is closely linked to Masaryk Square. A complex that was demolished in the 20th century was replaced by the “Nové Lauby” project, which was completed this summer.
In addition to 50 modern apartments, the new Plzeňka was created, evoking the legendary tavern “U Staré radnice.”
A highlight for beer lovers
The interior of the Plzeňka impresses with its unmistakable beer atmosphere. Whether it’s the cladding in barrel design or the eye-catching bar made of hand-blown glass, attention to detail is evident everywhere.
A special highlight: the characteristic beer tanks, which uniquely hover above the guests on the ceiling.
High-end audio using the Quadral
Master/Client Technology
Guest comfort is the top priority – not least thanks to the innovative audio technology from Loxone. The Master/Client solution offers a perfect combination of premium sound, simple wiring and stable signal transmission.
- Zoned sound: The restaurant areas can be individually controlled – volume and music direction automatically adapt to the time of day. This creates a calm atmosphere for business lunches at lunchtime and a more social atmosphere in the evening.
- Simple operation: The staff can easily adjust the music using the Loxone App on a tablet.
The audio system with speakers from Loxone has a beautiful sound, clear in every corner of our restaurant. It creates a great acoustic space where people can talk and not be disturbed by the table next to them.
The installed setup comprises 20 recessed Install Speakers 7, developed in collaboration with the audio specialist Quadral. Four of them act as Masters, the others as Clients. The Bus topology ensures simple wiring and saves space – one Audio Server and one Power Supply & Backup are sufficient to operate the Master/Client.
Automated lighting for enhanced comfort
The harmonious ambience of the Plzeňka is enhanced by an intelligent lighting system. From the green-tinted pendant lights above the tables – an homage to Pilsner Urquell – to the cleverly placed LED strips, the lighting control is fully automated.
- Automatic scene control: The lighting mood dynamically adjusts to the time of day and operating hours, operating in multiple scenes that are naturally linked to the atmosphere and occupancy of the pub.
- Central operation: The staff can easily adjust the lighting using the Loxone App on a tablet.
In addition, the smart heating control system ensures that guests feel comfortable at all times.
Efficient technology for the future
The decision to use Loxone was based on the positive experiences of owner Jiří Zajíček, who already uses the technology privately. Thanks to its flexibility, the system was optimally adapted to the requirements of a commercial pub setting.
Loxone’s simple installation and future-proof technology have convinced us. We are also planning to use it for our other companies.
