Identifying exactly which Tree device on a branch has a poor connection

I have a Presence Sensor Tree that is flashing orange which I understand highlights a fault with the Tree wiring. I have inspected the wiring going into the sensor and cannot see any issues with damaged insulation, Cat7 shielding touching any of the uninsulated wires, etc.

Running Tree Diagnostics on that branch in the Config application just tells me that there are communication problems with every device so I cannot pin down exactly where the fault has arisen.

Can anyone suggest anything to help rectify the problem?

Many thanks,

Tristan.

Seeing as it is all devices on that tree, you can probably rule out a faulty device.

My first port of call would be the Cat7 connection at the tree extension. Take out and reseat.

Next, check that the power supply for these devices has its -ve output commoned with the -ve output of your miniserver power supply. This is a very likely cause.

Ok thanks. Frustratingly the Presence Sensor Tree wasn’t working as a result of this issue so on a recommendation from my installer I swapped it out for a Presence Sensor Air and as soon as I did that I could see that one of the UFH valve actuators kept flashing up as no communication. When I checked the Cat 7 wiring to the actuator it all looked well seated but I gave each wire an extra push in with the tool and now the errors have all gone…

So frustrating that you can’t see which device is actually causing the problem when the diagnostic tool picks up a fault somewhere in the network.

Check if you had 0v linked across all PSU. the system do go funny if the 0v ground are not linked.
