A Day In The Life Of A Loxonaut: Daniela Deacon

Ever wondered what a career in the smart home industry might involve, or what it’s like to work at Loxone? If so, you’re in luck! This week we’re catching up with Daniela Deacon, who looks after sales in the UK, and finding out about what a typical day holds for her.

Hi Dani! How long have you worked for Loxone? When did you join?

I joined in November 2014 so about 2 and half years now. It was a great time to join the team because at the time we had many Partners who were just starting out on their Loxone journey, who have now achieved or are very close to achieving Gold Partner status. It’s a great feeling to be a part of so many success stories like that.

How has your role changed since you started?

When I started at Loxone, I was based purely in the sales team, speaking to companies about becoming Loxone Partners. I still speak to our Partners daily, and have built up some great relationships over the years, however, my role is more multi-faceted now, with elements of administration and event planning as well as traditional sales and customer relationship management. I now look after everything from initial Partner request enquiries through to bookings for training courses, planning and co-hosting info sessions and other events.

What made you apply to Loxone?

I was looking for a change and a new challenge. I saw the role advertised and the idea of getting involved in something completely new was both exciting and a little scary.

What does a typical day look like for you? What do you enjoy doing the most?


The majority of my day is taken up with speaking to people – existing Partners, new Partners and homeowners. I look after the bookings and preparations for all of our training courses, and advise new Partners about how the Loxone Partnership program works and its benefits.

What do I enjoy doing the most? I think introducing the whole potential of the Loxone system to companies, preparing for events and helping to run the Info Sessions

Why do you enjoy working here?

I really enjoy seeing people realise how much they can do with home automation – it’s a great to see people so excited about it. There’s a great team of people here and nothing ever stands still, so it’s an exciting environment to work in.

When you’re not in the office, what are you doing?

When I’m not in the office I’m either walking my Husky/German Shepherd cross, Kasha, playing ice hockey or just unwinding with a hard-earned glass of Prosecco!

Favourite Loxone product or feature?

My favourite feature would be “Welcome home mode” – where you arrive home and you need only touch a button to unlock the door, disarm the alarm, and switch the lights and music on. That’s a proper welcome home.

Last cool thing you bought?

That’s a tough one…in terms of ‘gadgets’, it would probably be my new Apple watch. I had to wait ages for it to arrive, but it was worth the wait.

Open space, uncluttered, modern yet with quirky features.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of applying to work in the sales team here at Loxone?

If you’re thinking of applying to work here, you should be keen on learning new things in a very fast paced environment, and willing to help others. It’s pretty important to like cake too as we eat a lot of it here!
