We’re very proud to let you know that 1314 Electrical Services have opened their certified Loxone Showroom, with the official opening scheduled for the end of November. To find out more about their new workspace and showroom and what led them to create it, we caught up with Managing Director James Thomson. Here’s what he had to say:

1. Could you start by telling us about your background and what led you to become interested in home automation?

Our background here at 1314 Electrical Services derives from a long-experienced career within the electrical trade. When starting the business, we set out to build a brand to be the go-to business for any electrical needs, including electrical installations, fire and security and networking. It didn’t take us long to notice the growth and demand for smart home installations, we then knew we had to be able to offer this to our clients. 

What made you decide to become a Loxone Partner? 

We decided to become a Loxone Partner because, when researching into different control systems for smart home automation, Loxone stood out to us as the brand looked high end; our business always strives for quality and high standards within our work ethic. After attending training courses at Loxone, we quickly learned that we made the best choice in control systems as it is not only high end, but simple to use and seamlessly works for your home, working in the background to ensure the best quality of home life for you and your family and also business premises. 

What led you to decide to build a Loxone Showroom?

Building our Loxone Showroom was a decision based on creating an experience for potential clients. We believe that experiencing a Loxone system first-hand shows how it benefits your family or business lives.

What is your favourite feature within your showroom? 

We love how our Loxone Showroom and offices automatically works for us, especially when we walk into a room and the lights and our favourite playlist come on without the touch of a button or switch.

What exactly does this showroom offer?

Our Loxone Showroom offers the opportunity to see how the system would work in a real home or business environment, giving the client a relaxed and comfortable experience when coming to view and test out the Loxone products. It is a fully automated showroom which showcases lighting control, heating and ventilation, audio and video distribution, security features, automatic shading, access control, door entry, and CCTV.

What are the go-to home automation features customers ask for?

The go-to features customers ask for when it comes to home automation are lighting and heating control, and also security features, making their homes and businesses safe and energy-efficient.

How have your customers benefited from living in a Loxone Smart Home? 

Our customers have benefitted from living in a Loxone Smart Home in a number of aspects, including saving money on energy bills and making their homes work for and around their busy lives, giving them more time to spend with their families.

In your opinion, where will the smart home industry be, in the UK, in 2025?

We believe that home automation will be a standard within the UK in the next 5-10 years in all new builds.
